Machine heads without a sealed gear are criticized for not having the same smooth performance, efficiency and durability that sealed gear tuners have. The SD series solves these problems by combining "Rock-solid" technology and the post collar or: "Self-Center Guide", found on enclosed gears in the base plate of the gear allowing the post to perfectly align itself with the bushing which attaches the gear to the headstock. The SD series uses a torque balancer to ensure steady rotation of the tuner button giving high quality sound performance as well as great functionality.

These Kluson® steel replacement - adapter bushings are intended for use in converting a modern 10mm drilled headstock to accept a vintage Kluson stamped steel tuning machines with the original US 1/4 inch string post diameter. Replacement screw on buttons for sealed diecast tuners. These classic button shapes can easily be swapped to give tuner sets a new style. All replacement buttons fit tuner shafts with 3.6mm diameters flatted to 2.9mm and M2.5-0.45 internal threading. Buttons are sold individually and include a mounting screw.
