Potentiometers are used to control volume and tone. A potentiometer is a three-terminal resistor with a sliding or rotating contact that forms an adjustable voltage divider.Check out our Tech Corder articles on pots, including Potentiometer Types.

Potentiometer - Fender®, 250kΩ, Knurled Shaft, No Load
250K ohm. for most Stratocasters and Telecasters. Original guitar hardware. CTS manufactured, includes capacitor. Comes in Fender ® packaging. Some Fender guitars have a unique tone circuit that features a "Delta Tone' Control. The "Delta Tone' system consists of a high output bridge pickup and special 'no-load' tone control for the middle and bridge pickups. This new pot has a detent at the 10 position which bypasses completely any filtration through capacitors.
Potentiometer - Peavey, 50kΩ, Linear, Center Detent
50K Linear, spider. Center detent. See R-VPV-50KL-R for a version without detent. Mounting hardware not included.
Nut - Fender, Hex Type, for Potentiometers
Package of 12Hex nut for Fender® potentiometers. Package of 12.
Potentiometer - Dunlop, MXR, 47K, PC mount
Genuine Dunlop replacement potentiometer for Dunlop/ MXR pedals. PC mount, 47K audio taper, knurled shaft.
Potentiometer - Dunlop, Super Pot, Solid Shaft, 250kΩ
The Super Pots from Dunlop are high quality, high performance, volume and tone pots designed and built to last a lifetime. These pots are resistant to dust and corrosion so they will provide smooth performance without the noise and scratchiness associated with normal run of the mill pots. Dunlop tested these pots past the 7 million turn mark. With results like that, these may be the last pots you ever have to put in your instrument.
- 250K Audio taper
- Solid shaft
- Proprietary technology
- Resistant to dust and corrosion
Potentiometer - Dunlop Hot Potz, 470 kΩ
Used in Jimi Hendrix's WAH and Dunlop volume pedal. 470 kΩ. Original Dunlop replacement part.
Potentiometer - Fender®, 1M, Solid Shaft
1M ohm, Solid Shaft. Original Fender. Used for Volume and Tone control in many Fender guitars as well as amplifiers.
Potentiometer - Fender, 250K, Solid Shaft, No Load
250K ohm, solid shaft, no load. Some Fender guitars have a unique tone circuit that features a "Delta Tone" Control. The "Delta Tone" system consists of a high output bridge pickup and special 'no-load' tone control for the middle and bridge pickups. This new pot has a detent at the 10 position which bypasses completely any filtration through capacitors. Unlike the TBX, which has a detent at the 5 position and gradually reduces the amount of filtration through the capacitor, the Delta-Tone's 'no-load' feature eliminates filtration completely at the detent and the result is more of the direct presence of the pickup.
Potentiometer Adapter Sleeve - Converts .125” shaft to ¼"
This nickel-plated brass adapter sleeve converts a 0.125 in. (3.17mm) shaft potentiometer to ¼" shaft (6.35mm), allowing for ¼" knobs to be used on a wider range of potentiometers. The cutout on the sleeve allows the set screw of the knob to secure directly to the shaft of the pot. Depending on the knob used, a longer set screw can be required.
Nut - for Marshall, Hex Type, M9, for Potentiometers
Package of 5Replacement nut for Marshall snap in style pots with M9 bushing.
Potentiometer - PMT, Dual Mode Tone Control
The DMT is a passive dual mode guitar tone control designed specifically for electric guitars that can operate in either HIGH PASS or LOW PASS modes greatly expanding the instruments tonal possibilities without the use of a battery or active electronics. Micro switches on the circuit board provide the user the ability to select one of two different frequency ranges for both high and low pass modes. Easy installation with no capacitors or other parts needed. Replace the tone control in you guitar with one that you will actually use!

Potentiometer - Bourns, Linear, Knurled Shaft, square
Potentiometer - Bourns, Linear Taper, Knurled Split Shaft, Premium
Potentiometer - PMT, Humbucker Control, Coil Filters
The HCP Humbucker Control Pot is a dual mode variable coil tap selector for electric guitars and basses that eliminates the additional switches associated with coil splitting a pair of humbuckers. In TAP mode, rotating the pot counterclockwise fades from humbuckers to outer coils (neck pickup South coil & bridge pickup North coil). Pulling the HCP control up and rotating it counterclockwise fades from humbuckers to inner coils (neck pickup North coil & bridge pickup South coil). Tonal control is expanded with the unique ability to coil tap both humbuckers in varying amounts. In COIL FILTER mode, turning the HCP control applies varying amounts of a specially tuned high frequency filter to only one coil of the selected coils of the humbuckers (either North or South coils can be filtered). This makes each pickup a single coil at high frequencies and a humbucker at lower frequencies which produces a sound similar to a pair of single coils but with a stronger, fuller tone and 50% less noise than coil tapping.
