Capacitors are passive devices that are used in almost all electrical circuits for rectification, coupling and tuning. Also known as condensers, a capacitor is simply two electrical conductors separated by an insulating layer called a dielectric. The conductors are usually thin layers of aluminum foil, while the dielectric can be made up of many materials including paper, mylar, polypropylene, ceramic, mica, and even air. Electrolytic capacitors have a dielectric of aluminum oxide which is formed through the application of voltage after the capacitor is assembled. Characteristics of different capacitors are determined by not only the material used for the conductors and dielectric, but also by the thickness and physical spacing of the components.
Capacitor - Mod® Electronics, 600V, Oil Filled, Axial Lead
Mod® Electronics Oil Caps are high quality, hand-crafted capacitors that are the perfect choice for guitars, amplifiers, and all audio equipment. Each capacitor is impregnated with mineral oil for a void-free winding providing highly stable capacitance. The capacitor is hermetically sealed in an aluminum casing to ensure a long life. The detailed construction results in a precise capacitance with a tolerance of ±10%. Mod® Oil Caps also feature a red stripe to designate the outside foil.
Capacitor - Jupiter, Bumblebee, Paper in Oil, 400V, Axial Lead
Jupiter Condenser 400V Bumblebee capacitors made with aluminum foil paper-in-oil. As one of the earliest construction types, featuring a pure paper/oil construction complete with a true hermetic seal. The tone you crave and love, in the most accurate reproduction. Made in the USA of US-made materials. Construction is accurate to the original materials used in the Bumblebee Capacitors, featuring a true hermetic seal, Aluminum Foil, Paper-in-Mineral Oil with tinned copper leads.
